Sponsored by FFGA in conjunction with California Poets in the Schools, this special project first brought poetry lessons into West Marin School in Point Reyes Station, California, in the fall of 1999.

The lessons addressed themes of animal wisdom, joy, connection, generosity, beauty, honoring the heart, peace, praise, forgiveness, and envisioning a new future. The Classroom Poetry Guide that was created for this project, as well as a beautifully illustrated anthology of Children's Inspirational Poetry, are now available on-line from FFGA.

for a long time.
I will give you a petal
that falls from a rose.

that falls in autumn.
I will give you the sunken diamond
tht shines more than the sun.
I will give you my last treasure,
the seashell that echoes like the ocean.
