In Our Own Words 2000 is a landmark national research program that examines emerging values and expressions of transformation from the hearts and minds of the American people. The results of this study program reveal a caring American public who is much more connected through spiritual beliefs and attitudes than most people may be aware of today.

In its broadest sense, In Our Own Words (IOOW 2000) provides a meaningful heart-centered bridge between diverse groups of Americans who may currently believe they are so different from each other that they often do not see how deeply connected they may actually be. Thus, this project is intended to accelerate healing on a large social scale and to facilitate a more conscious evolution of Humanity.

DETAILS OF THE IOOW 2000 RESEARCH PROGRAM

During the early part of 2000, highly trained researchers conducted over 1,600 interviews across America with adults over 18 years of age. The interviews averaged 43 minutes in length and covered a wide range of over 200 questions on beliefs, values, spirituality and lifestyle. The sampling, controlled by age, gender and geography, was based on the twelve standard U.S. Census regions, with an overall margin of error of plus or minus 1.5%. The survey had a remarkably low incidence of mid-termination, as the questions asked held deep meaning for the respondents and kept them actively engaged in the process.
